Just Ask Jill

I’m a wife and mother of three daughters, grateful for the years I was able to be home when they were young—a choice that shaped me in lasting and meaningful ways. Today, I’m incredibly proud of the women they’ve become, and I’m super excited to finally be called “Grandma.”

I enjoy the simple, grounding things in life—working in my yard, taking walks in the sunshine, and grabbing my camera to capture something (or someone) beautiful. I am a life-long learner who enjoys reading, reflecting, and listening to podcasts. I seek to grow in understanding, jotting down notes on whatever is in reach.

My work in faith-based nonprofit leadership has afforded me valuable experiences, with the greatest rewards coming from the people—staff, students, clients, and donors alike—who make the work meaningful every day. Investing in others fills my cup.

I lead, learn, and love with intention—working hard, laughing often, and embracing a life that’s full, authentic, and just a little bit sleep-deprived.

Why the House of Representatives?

I have been at the very core of this community for over 30 years. My husband Brian and I have built our life here. We raised our three daughters here. We’ve served here. We’ve invested here. District 43 isn’t a stepping stone for me—it’s home.

I’m running because the decisions we make in Bismarck directly affect the strength of our families, the stability of our homes, and the future of our children. I believe this moment calls for steady leadership, clear priorities, and the courage to act.

I am prepared to do the work. I am committed to listening carefully, studying the issues thoroughly, and leading with clarity and conviction—and yes, Courage!

I would be honored to earn your trust and your vote.

Quality Education

I have worked in education leadership and alongside families long enough to know that one size does not fit all. Strong public schools matter. Strong private schools matter. Homeschool families matter. Parents deserve meaningful choice, and every student deserves excellence. We should be raising standards, supporting teachers, and ensuring that every child is equipped for success. Let’s match students with learning environments that best meet their needs.

Mental Health & Addiction Solutions

These challenges touch nearly every family in some way. We must increase access to care, prioritize early intervention, and protect our children both in physical spaces and digital spaces. Healthy families build strong communities. Helping family members help themselves may seem simple, but children in particular suffer when that help does not come.

Jill’s Platform

Owning a home should not feel like renting it from the government. Families and seniors on fixed incomes deserve stability. We need responsible, meaningful tax reform that allows people to stay in their homes and plan for their future with confidence. Property tax breaks followed by higher home valuations is insulting to those paying attention.

Parents are their child’s first and most important teachers. Government’s role is to protect and support parents—not replace them. I will stand firmly for parental rights in education, healthcare, and child development. Along with the privilege of raising a family comes the weight of doing it well. We must encourage parents to build community with each other as they access and enjoy local resources.

Every human being has inherent dignity and worth—from conception to natural death. My work serving moms, dads, and children has reinforced that conviction daily. We all start small, and God willing, we will be here for a long time. Let’s make the human connection between us unbreakable.
